Song before: It’s All Too Much – The Church
intro
From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. Let’s begin tonight with a trip over to Robot Dog Studio.
1.) June – Cricket Blue
2.) Psalm – Cricket Blue
3.) Alicia From The Store – Cricket Blue
4.) Burdens Down – Cricket Blue
I really want to thank Ryan Cohen for the recording and filming, since the rest of the crew had the day off. Thanks Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith for being so amazing. I’ll see you tomorrow at the album release show. OK, so I’ve been working 10 hour days and have little time for anything else. I’m just going to play a bunch of songs that I love, if that’s OK. Let’s begin with a few bands who just played Waking Windows. This songs seems especially appropriate for this time of year.
5.) Intro->May – Adrienne Cooper Smith
6.) In The Key Of Me – The Essex Green
7.) The Next Instead – SWALE
8.) Don’t Look Back – ROUGH FRANCIS
It was so wild to see Francis in the middle of the Winooski traffic circle playing a jam packed rock show. It was great seeing Swale play the same venue the night before. Essex made my heart swoon at Waterworks on Friday and that one really stuck with me. I was lucky to catch Adrienne’s set at the Community Of Sound showcase. OK, here’s a song I totally love.
9.) Teenage Mother Earth – The Red Telephone
10.) Breathing In – The Hero Cycle
11.) Nowhere Feels Like Home – Fire The Cannons
12.) The Revenge Of Vera Gemini – The Contrarian
Thanks for teaching me that BOC song Contrarian. Cannons were my go to rock band for a couple of years, and that one especially hits home. Hero played a few shows in town and left that one lodged in my soul. The Telephone song is one of my all time favorites. I hope you liked it too. OK, so Joe has created some fantastic music over the years, and proposed to his sweetie at Waking Windows. Congratulations Joe! Thanks for amazing songs like this.
13.) Brothers And Sisters – Joe Adler
14.) Small Town Movie – The Cush
15.) Wanderer – Francesca Blanchard
16.) So Good (I Could Die) – J Bengoy
That song has really taken hold in my list of favorites. Francesca is amazing and something about that one always catches me. Everyone was all smiles whenever The Cush played Movie. Great song from Joe. I love this song too.
17.) It’ll Be Okay – Let’s Whisper
18.) Falter – Julia Caesar
19.) Poem For Torin/Ethan Is Stoned – Peg Tassey MUSIC
20.) Navigate – Kali Ma and the Garland of Arms – KMGA
Kali came to town recently and played a couple of shows. I’ve been listening to their album a lot and that one has really sunk in. I love that old classic from Peg and that new classic from Julia. Okay always makes my heart smile. Here comes a song that I’ve loved for years, and I finally have a recording of it.
21.) Pale Rage – Invisible Homes
22.) Really Doesn’t Matter – The New Siberians
23.) Golden Cadillac – Happy Spangler
24.) The Space Between – The Nancy Druids
25.) Bitchcraft – Jessica Rabbit Syndrome
I love that witch song. Space always lights me up. I’ve loved Cadillac since the first time I heard it. Fortunately, all the songs on the Siberians albums are favorites, so that one fit nicely. Yea, I finally get to play Pale Rage. Well, I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
