I just got back from tonight’s local music radio show on 107.1FM WBKM. I got in a bit early and lined up a lot of songs before the show. It went as follows:

Songs before:
The Naked Garden – Peg Tassey MUSIC
You – Slingshot Dakota
Delirious – The Church Band
In The Walls – Stellastarr
Don’t Cough Me Out – Slowdim
Until We Sleep – David Gilmour
Tonight It Shows – Mercury Rev
Sparks – The Color Exchange
Move Through Time – Persian Claws

recording begins
Song Before – Flicker – Tori Amos

From our small city to the great big world these are the Sounds Of Burlington. I want to thank Higher Ground for sponsoring the station and for filling the town with music this coming Saturday and Sunday when Grace Potter headlines the GPN festival. It’s a chilly night in town and the moon is close to full. Considering that this first band played in town on Saturday, this is the most appropriate song I could think of to open with.

1.) Harvest Moon – Silver Bridget
2.) Paperclip Chains – Let’s Whisper
3.) The Interrogator (Enhanced) – Milton Busker
4.) The Great Forgetter – The New Siberians

Yet another great song from the Siberians new album Black, Blue and White. Such a happy pop song from Milton, give or take the lyrics. Great song from Colin Nicholas Clary‘s band. I love Bridget’s sound. OK, let’s play the next song on Song For My Double. This is such a great song.

5.) Above The Frequency – Invisible Homes
6.) Oversoul – Daniel Waterhouse (Dan Murphy)
7.) Unraveling Clouds – Black Ox
8.) Bidets And Confused – Sad Turtle

It was cool to finally see Turtle at the Art Hop on Friday. Ox are a new band from Cameo Harlot‘s Cam Barrows and have some cool instrumental songs. Great song from Dan. I love that song from Homes. I missed this next band when they played the Art Hop but I bet it was a great show.

9.) Stop – REDadmiral
10.) Ricky The Rider – The Mountain Says No
11.) Womb With A View – Heavy Plains
12.) Hit – Blue Button

BB kick off GPN on Saturday and always rock. It was great to see Plains at the Art Hop on Friday. Same for Mountain. This next band play GPM on Sunday.

13.) Picture – And The Kids
14.) Purpose And Object – The Contrarian
15.) TFAY – Elephants of Scotland
16.) The Big One – The High Breaks

Breaks will release the vinyl version of their album Friday at Nectar’s and Saturday at Foam Brewers. I love that Elephants song. Same for the song from Casey Merlin Rae. Kids always rock. This next singer is playing Radio Bean tomorrow.

17.) The Mime – Joe Adler
18.) Edible – SWALE
19.) Little French Earthquakes – Phil Yates & The Affiliates
20.) Barstools – Abbie Morin

Abbie is playing at Higher Ground next Wednesday. Phil and at least one affiliate are playing Radio Bean on Saturday. Swale are playing Light Club Lamp Shop tomorrow. They will be joined by Spurs and The Middle Eight for their reunion show. Here is a song by that band who feature Ariel, Tyler, and Daniel Bolles.

21.) Put You Down – The Middle Eight
22.) Emptiness – Vedora
23.) Kids – Wren Kitz
24.) The Feeling Is Strange – Binger

Binger played Nectar’s last night. Wren and Caroline O’Connor were at Light Club Lamp Shop tonight, but I missed them since I was doing this show. It should be fun to see Eight play again. This next band play GPN on Saturday and played a huge show at the Art Hop last Friday.

25.) By My Side – Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band
26.) Old Man – Silver Bridget

I thought I would end where I began. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
Ta Ta. Farewell. See Ya….
