Swale 016

Tonight’s local music radio show will run from 9-11pm Thursday June 29 over the air at 107.1FM and can be streamed at WBKM. It will go as follows:

Song before: Stairway To The Stars – Blue Oyster Cult

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. Last Sunday I went over to The Monkey House for one of the Show Up Shows to raise money for a good cause. Sean Hood played a gorgeous version of this song.

1.) Birds Of Park Slope – Eastern Mountain Time
2.) Liar – Maryse Smith
3.) Let Me Be – Peter Burton
4.) The Territory – Hana Zara

I miss Hana and hope she comes to see us again soon. I finally saw Peter’s band The Original Q last night at Nectar’s. They played a great version of that song, only with more bass, drums, and guitar. Maryse was back in town in May. It’s great when we are lucky enough to get to see her play. Great song by Mountain. OK, here is the next song from Lights Camera Action and is the last song on the Camera EP. We’ll move on to Action next week.

5.) Adam And Eve – 1881
6.) Giant Mosquitoes – Cold Sweat
7.) Every Time I Hear That Mellow Saxophone – Big Joe Burrell & The Unknown Blues Band
8.) Waiting For You – SWALE
9.) Eve & Adam – Cricket Blue

Cricket are pretty amazing and are playing at Farnham Ale & Lager VT tomorrow at 7. Swale have a new album, There’s No One Here, coming out July 7th and we are all waiting for them. After seeing Q last night I walked up Church st and stopped for a moment at the statue of Big Joe to reflect on the wonderful music that he put into out town. I want to keep playing it and keeping it alive. It’s definitely mosquito season here in VT so I had to play the Sweat song. Great song from 1881. This next artist is pretty amazing and will be at Foam Brewers next Wednesday.

10.) True Hue – Ivamae
11.) Relax – Joe Adler
12.) Detective Norman – Sad Turtle
13.) Mirror Mirror – Joe Adler & The Rangers Of Danger

That was recorded live at Nectar’s a while ago. He and the band will play in the rotary inside the traffic circle in Winooski next Wednesday. That should be interesting. Turtle are playing Saturday night at Radio Bean. Joe and his new band a.m. rejoice go on just before. This next band are doing a stripped down version of themselves tomorrow at 7:30 at Light Club Lamp Shop since their bass player is out of town. That should be interesting.

14.) By Design – The Nancy Druids
15.) The Call – Swillbillie
16.) Oh Dirty Blondes – Dirty Blondes
17.) Sugar Coated Candy Stix – Dino Bravo VT

Swillbillie are playing Nectar’s on Friday and are bringing Dino and the Blondes along. That will be a loud fun rocking show! This next performer was in a couple of Burlington bands in the ’90’s and just put our some new music.

18.) You’re the Target – Casey Merlin Rae
19.) Getting Laid In New Hampshire – Better Things
20.) Burning Bridges – Blue Button
21.) Monsters Are Due – Doom Service

Doom may or may not be playing a secret show that may or may not happen this weekend. If you like that song you may or may not want to check in with them. Great rockers from Blue, Better and Casey. This next band have a show coming up in a few weeks.

22.) Again Over Again – Banana Schlitz
23.) Jan Michael Vincent – Chin Ho
24.) Papertrain – David L Jarvis
25.) Chop Wood Carry Water – Zola Turn

I saw Zola many times in the ’90’s and they rocked hard every time. Dave played in the ’90’s and has a new band called Agent 802. Classic from Ho. I’m just getting to know the Banana album. It’s been sunny and rainy and the gardens in Vermont are putting the green in our name.

26.) The Naked Garden part J – Peg Tassey MUSIC
27.) The Road – Anders Parker
28.) Mary – Plan B
29.) The Naked Garden – Peg Tassey

Peg will be getting one of her bands, Peg Tassey ~ The Kissing Circle ~ Reprise, back together soon and will play a show and I am beyond excited. Mary is a classic from Burlington’s late ’80’s and early ’90’s. Great rocker from Anders. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. It’s a drizzly rainy night in Burlington and oddly warm for this late in November. Tonight I want to start with the second band I ever saw live. They opened for the Ramones at the Flynn Theater. My friend Christopher Larrow just got a turntable that can rip mp3’s so now I have a copy of this album to play. This is one of those songs that just randomly pops into my head now and then. I hope you enjoy!

1.) Hold Me Tight – The Decentz
2.) You Don’t Like Me, Do Ya? – Pinhead
3.) Wally Rides The Ferry – Zoot Wilson
4.) Every Time I Hear That Mellow Saxophone – Big Joe Burrell & The Unknown Blues Band

Big Joe passed away a few years back, and has a wonderful statue on Church st, but the band are around and playing tonight at Nectar’s to help celebrate the clubs 40th birthday. A lot of great music has been played in that room. OK, it’s time to play the last song on No Need To Beg. I hope you have enjoyed listening to all of those songs as much as I have.

5.) Insomnia – Phil Yates & The Affiliates
6.) I Feel So Dumb – The Decentz
7.) Medula Momblongata – Strung Out
8.) Say It – Anachronist

Great song from the Central Vermont band. Everyone loved to go see Emily play whenever Strung Out performed. Another classic from Decentz. Another great song from Phil Yates. I will be off next week, since it’s Thanksgiving, but the week after I will have to find a new album to play all the way through. This next set should be fun. It’s about girls clubs and boys clubs and motorcycles.

9.) Bad Girls Club – Colin Nicholas Clary
10.) Boys Club – Peg Tassey MUSIC
11.) She’s A Motorcycle – Colin Clary
12.) Faineant – Swale

I love that song about wishing he was a motorcycle and could go where he wants. Well sung Eric Olsen. Motorcycle and Girls Club are from Twee Blues, the album Colin just sent me. Thanks! There are some fun songs on that album. Boys Club is a classic from Peg about the anger that comes from being excluded because of race or sex or whatever. When you think about it the best way to fight terrorism is not with guns and bombs but to make everyone included and feel valued and have a hope of a decent life. It’s really not that hard to figure out. This next song is something that I have had for months on vinyl but have not been able to play for you, since we play all music files at the station. Thanks for ripping the MP3 for this one Chris!!!

13.) Bling Pigs – ROUGH FRANCIS
14.) Heavy Psych – The Cush
15.) Cowgirl In The Sand – The Seth Yacovone Band

Seth and the band played a killer show last week at Nectar’s to help WBKM celebrate its birthday. Joe Moore started the night on solo sax and tossed in a nice cover of Heart Of Gold. Seth played a solo set of Neil Young songs. He began with After The Gold Rush and closed with My My Hey Hey. The full band came on after and opened with Hey Hey My My and played tons of classics, including a killer version of Cowgirl. I was just thinking of the show The Cush played last year at Arts Riot, where they sold me their killer new album. That is the lead off song. Great song from Francis!!! OK, let’s keep rocking.

16.) The Day I Met You – Dirtminers
17.) So They Say – The New Siberians
18.) Who’s Fault Was That – The Snaz
19.) Compared To You – The Decentz

I love mixing something so old like Compared with something so new like Fault. I thought they sounded quite nice together. I’m still impatiently waiting for the next Siberians album. Great song that likely will be on that album. Killer song from Dirtminers. It’s been drizzly and rainy all night and feels a little bit like this.

20.) In The Rain – Plan B
21.) Left One In The Rain – Alice Austin
22.) We Shall Overcome – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and 30 VT Musicians

I’m so glad there is one candidate for President talking about the need to create a world where people don’t want to be terrorists, rather than dealing with the repercussions afterwards. Bernie has been doing it for decades. Plan and Alice Austin sure sum up the mood of the evening. Since I have a bit of an international commentary going, I thought this would be fun to play.

23.) Attempt No Landing Aria – Mailbox
24.) Micronesia – Mailbox
25.) TFAY – Elephants of Scotland

I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s not do it next week but rather spend Thanksgiving with our families and not shopping. Let’s do it the week after that, and the week after that…

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds of Burlington. Yesterday was the day they used as the long future date in Back To The Future Part II, October 21, 2015. Let’s begin with some local music about those implications.

1.) Flux Capacitor – Wave of the Future
2.) 1.21 Jigawatts – Wave of the Future
3.) All I Want Is A Hoverboard – Wave of the Future

Wave have so many great songs about Back To The Future. They are playing October 30 at Finnegan’s with The Mountain Says No. Last week I saw two really cool bands at The Skinny Pancake and enjoyed them both in different ways. I’ll begin with one from each.

4.) Who’s Fault Was That? – The Snaz
5.) Sound Island – Vows
6.) Wiser – And The Kids
7.) What’s In California? – Joshua Glass Music

Josh was just at Waterworks Food + Drink and I’m bummed I missed the show. ATK just released their new album on vinyl. Check it out if you are into that. Vows and Snaz played killer versions of those songs last week. This guy is playing at Nectar’s tomorrow both solo acoustic and with an electric band.

8.) The Singing Of The Song – Seth Yacovone Band
9.) Release The Beast – The Mountain Says No
10.) Silver And Gold – Waylon Speed!

Waylon can rock pretty hard, especially when playing that one. I’m psyched to see Mountain tomorrow!! OK, here is the next song on No Need To Beg. This is one of the great rock songs to come from Burlington.

11.) Little French Earthquakes – Phil Yates & The Affiliates
12.) Alienation – Black Rabbit
13.) Still Life Scene – Envy
14.) Womb With A View – Heavy Plains

Heavy are playing at The Monkey House Sunday. They were great the last time I saw them. Classic from Envy. Killer Rabbit song and great song from Phil Yates and the band. Let’s keep rocking.

15.) Black And Red – ROUGH FRANCIS
16.) A Place Both Wonderful And Strange – Vultures of Cult
17.) Christmas In Afghanistan – The Wards
18.) Green Peaks/Dark Valleys – Get A Grip
19.) Monsters Are Due – Doom Service

Doom and Grip are playing at Higher Ground Sunday as part of Colin’s Roar a benefit for Cystic FIbrosis. Killer song from the Wards and still unfortunately appropriate. Cool song from Vulture and great song from Francis. This next set is about our understanding of God or the Gods.

20.) These Stories – When Particles Collide
21.) Hermaphroditus – Rue Mevlana
22.) Dear God – Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band

One song about asking God to help you get out of something and a couple about the ancient Greeks and others. Big Joe passed away 10 years ago and in a couple of weeks the Unknown Blues Band will play a show in his honor.

23.) Every Time I hear That Mellow Saxophone – Big Joe Burrell & The Unknown Blues Band
24.) Jan Michael Vincent – Chin Ho
25.) All My Life – Wide Wail
26.) Green Apple Girl – Dave Jarvis

4 classics from the ’90’s. In Vermont, there are lots of wonderful apples around. It was such a beautiful day today and I had to run errands and drove around with the windows down.

27.) Windows Down – Lendway
28.) Dancing In Dreamtime – Jerichovox

I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we? Goodbye.

I just got back from doing my local music radio show on internet only WBKM.org. In honor of Jazzfest, I played a bunch of blues and jazz, then let it rock.

Song before: Now And Then – Pete Townshend

promo

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the sounds of Burlington. You likely cannot hear what I’m saying since the fire trucks are blaring sirens as I speak. It’s Jazzfest and the town is filled with music and happy people. This first artist is headlining the block party tomorrow from 5-8 on the stage at the top of Church St. This is Afterall (Glad We Made It) by Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band on WBKM and this is Burlington’s Kind Of Music.

1.) Afterall (Glad We Made It) – Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band
2.) Blue Lunch – Sneakers Jazz Band – Live at White Crow
3.) I’m Just A Lonely So And So – Big Joe Burrell & The Unknown Blues Band

Joe was one of the greats and put tons of music into this town. It’s cool that they just re-released the live in the studio Sneakers band album. Great stuff from some great musicians. They are reuniting for two shows at Club Metronome on Sunday. Great stuff from Kat and the band. Let’s stay with the classic Vt theme.

4.) Killer Bee Bop – Zoot Wilson
5.) Stronger – Belizbeha
6.) Fearless->Benny And The Jets->Fearless – Marco Benevento.

That was from a show Marco played at Radio Bean. Belizbeha used to play their acid jazz all over town. There’s a lot of talent in that band. Let’s keep things jazzy for just a little while longer.

7.) Breathe – Barika
8.) Mon Ange – Francesca Blanchard
9.) Burning Down The House (live) – Joe Adler & The Rangers Of Danger

That was from a fun show and recorded live at Nectar’s. Francesca is playing Light Club Lamp Shop this evening. I love the flow of the Barika song. Well, last week I played the last song from Swale‘s The Next Instead. It’s time to start a new album to play song after song, week after week. This album is not out yet but should be released June 27th when they play The Monkey House. The album is called JV from a band called The Mountain Says No.

10.) Come And Decide – The Mountain Says No
11.) Kill Your Idols – Steve Blair & Andy Hildebrandt
12.) Burn It Down Bernadette – Phil Yates & The Affiliates

Phil and the band are playing the Monkey House tomorrow. Classic VT musicians covering a Slush/Five Seconds Expired song from the Burlington Does Burlington disc. Great song from Mountain and a lot more great songs by Mountain on the way. If you listened to the Zoot song you may have caught the line about enjoying 6-7 daiquiris. A lot of people in Burlington like to have a few drinks and see music and have fun. One of the preferred drinks is the subject of this next set.

13.) Whiskey Man – Arc Iris
14.) Don’t Give That Guy Whiskey – Torpedo Rodeo
15.) A Bottle Of Whiskey Later – Crazyhearse
16.) The Whiskey Always Wins – When Particles Collide

Particles are heading out on the road. Check your local listings and check them out if they come to your town. Killer song by Crazyhearse. I had lots of fun seeing Torpedo when they used to do the basement shows with tons of bands. I loved seeing Iris a couple of weeks back. Hopefully I’ll get to see them again. The Crazyhearse song had Rebecca Rogers on it. So does the next one.

17.) When I’m Drunk – The Dirty Blondes
18.) Summertime – The Velvet Ovum Band
19.) Super Sexy Science Party – Wave of the Future

Great song that was recorded at Nectar’s too. Classic from Peg Tassey MUSIC and her band. I just love this next song.

20.) Say It – Anachronist
21.) Think I’ll Stay – Great Western
22.) The Banks Of Marble – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and 30 Vermont musicians

It’s great that Bernie’s message today is the same as it was back when he recorded that. It’s too bad that it still has to be the same. The Western song could have fit in the whiskey set, but works in any set of music. OK, time for a couple left. This next band was fronted by Dan Bolles who writes for Seven Days and has taught me a lot about music in our town over the years.

23.) Highway Girl – The Skamaphrodites
24.) The Blackout – The Static Age

That band spawned two great Burlington musicians. Marie Claire Johnson played keys on that and went on to front Fire The Cannons, and Bobby Hackney Jr. plays drums on that song and now sings for the mighty ROUGH FRANCIS. Well, I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?

I just got back from from doing my local music radio show on internet only Wbkm Dot Org. Considering how I placed the songs tonight I likely should have used The Old And They Young by MIDLAKE BAND as the song before, but considering the past couple of days, I had to use Flood of Sunshine.

Song before: Flood Of Sunshine – The Posies

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds of Burlington. It’s a warm night and the last couple of days have felt like we just had spring for a few days, and now it feels like summer. This is Sarah Blacker on WBKM, and this is Burlington’s Kind of Music.

1.) These Summer Nights – Sarah Blacker
2.) All The Kids – The New Siberians
3.) Our Work Is Never Done – PossumHaw
4.) The North – Hana Zara

I love the reference to the painted buildings in Burlington’s Old North End in that song. Great song from PossumHaw! That’s a super brand new song from Siberians. I’ve got the windows open and it feels like a warm summer night. This next artist used to be mayor of Burlington and now he’s running for President.

5.) We Shall Overcome – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and thirty Vermont artists
6.) Destiny Waits – Bud & Budd ~ The Kind Buds
7.) Sweet Angel – Robert Gagnon

Lovely song by Bob! Bud and Budd are such excellent guitar players. If you like the guitar, make sure you check them out sometime. Speaking of great guitar players you really should check out.

8.) New Atlantis – Aaron Flinn
9.) At The Diner – Zoot Wilson
10.) Evel Kinevel – Guppyboy
11.) Rocketsled’s Funky Main Man Meets Big Joe On Church Street – Phish & Richard Haupt.

Richard showed a lot of heart playing the clarinet on Church Street every day for years. It’s cool that Phish backed him up on that. Nice cover of the Chainsaws Of Babylon by Guppy. It almost had a Legend Of A Mind sweep to it. Killer song by Zoot. Aaron is playing at Radio Bean Tuesday at nine, if you want to check him out, and you really should if you can. So, speaking of Big Joe.

12.) Every Time I Hear That Mellow Saxophone – Big Joe Burrell & The Unknown Blues Band
13.) Sunflower Street – David L. Jarvis
14.) By My Side – Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band
15.) Glory Bound – Maryse Smith

Yet another great song from Maryse’s new album The Way It Is. Kat and the band are just so good. It’s not quite sunflower time yet, but there are tons of flowers blooming around town. Here is another cool new song.

16.) The Endless War – Jeremy Gilchrist
17.) Double Dare Ya – Steph Pappas
18.) Somebody Up There Loves Me – The Starline Rhythm Boys
19.) 40 Days – Better Things

BT are playing lots of shows and writing lots of music and are really good. Rhythm Boys have been playing around for years and are still going strong. Steph’s been making music in our town for a long time too. Let’s continue on through Swale’s album The Next Instead.

20.) Popular Crowd – Swale
21.) That’s That Is Is – Ninja Custodian
22.) Bullet – REDadmiral
23.) Yours Sincerely – Persian Claws
24.) Be A Good Citizen (NYC Mix) – Pinhead

Classic song with lots of good advice. The Claws are always fun! I’ve got to put in the effort to catch Admiral sometime soon. Classic from Ninja. This next artist has played tons of great shows for years and is getting a lifetime achievement award at Nectar’s tomorrow. It is extremely well deserved.

25.) Nighttime Fades – Seth Yacovone Band
26.) Film Called Life – Jer Coons
27.) How It Goes – Blue Button
28.) Little French Earthquakes – Phil Yates & The Affiliates

I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town, let’s do it again next week, shall we?

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. I’ve been thinking about eternity and the nature of what we are recently. It’s weird to think of the spirit that is you is so tied to a physical body, and that large wonderful body would be almost nothing if you took away the water. Let’s play some songs about water and think about what it means to be alive. This is Left One In The Rain by Alice Austin on WBKM and this is Burlington’s Kind Of Music.

1.) Left One In The Rain – Alice Austin
2.) Orange Like Water – The Cush
3.) Waterlanding – Swale
4.) Nothing But The Water II – Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

Great song from Grace talking about one of the uses of water, it’s a great thing to balance the element of fire. The Swale and Cush songs have such a lovely watery feel. (note: the mix from Orange into Landing was seamless). Of course, rain is a very important iteration of water. OK, let’s move on to the next song from Joe Adler‘s Many Things & Many Scenes,

5.) Many Things & Many Scenes – Joe Adler
6.) Every Time I Hear That Mellow Saxophone – Big Joe Burrell
7.) Mystery Blues – Zoot Wilson
8.) Promises – Vedora

Great song from Vedora. Matt has a side project every Monday in February at Radio Bean from 7-8. Last week I worked until 7:30 and missed it. Rats. Great classic songs from Burlington’s past with Joe and Zoot, and great song from Burlington’s present by Joe. This next singer is playing the Bean on Saturday at 7. I’ll see if I can make it if I get out early enough.

9.) Good Thing – Maryse Smith
10.) If Time Was A River – Anna Pardenik and Her Apologies
11.) Kill The Lights – Monoprix
12.) Change My Heart – Rusty Belle

Rusty are from North Hampton but come to Burlington often. They are playing the Skinny Pancake on Friday. Cool song from Brett Hughes and co. The Anna song would have fit nicely into the first set. This next band is playing The Monkey House tomorrow.

13.) Might As Well Settle – Phil Yates & The Affiliates
14.) Secret Makeout Factory – And The Kids
15.) On My Way – Hover
16.) See Me On My Way – Superhuman Happiness

Great band name and sweet song. Hover were a ’90’s Burlington band. It’s almost time for the And The Kids new album and tour. If you liked the Hover song, you’ll like this next set too!

17.) Finder – Madelines
18.) Circumstance – Tokyo Storm Warning
19.) Throw Me Away – Spill
20.) That’s When I Reach For My Revolver – Ninja Custodian

That song used to rock Burlington hard and often. I love all of those rocking songs that helped Burlington to keep expanding the sound of our town. I’m very psyched for this show next week at the Flynn Theatre. These three bands will be rocking out.

21.) Scream – Sistas in the Pit
22.) Righteous – ROUGH FRANCIS
23/) Freakin’ Out – Death World Wide

I’m sending that set out to my brother Ken who will go to the show with me. OK, let’s head back to classic Burlington.

24.) Voodoo Camero – Wide Wail
25.) The Tradeoff In Vermont – Lindy Pear
26.) Lights Of Montreal – Lobot
27.) Geograph (2015 mix) – Elephants of Scotland

Ending where we began, on the edge of sea and sand. Ken and I, and most of the elephants, will see the lights of Montreal this summer when we go see Rush. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?

intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. I’m going to play a ton of new music tonight, but let’s start with a couple of Burlington classics. This is Zoot Wilson on Wbkm, and this is Burlington’s Kind Of Music.

1.) Killer Bee Bop – Zoot Wilson
2.) Every Time I Hear That Mellow Saxophone – Big Joe Burrell and the Unknown Blues Band
3.) My Atom Girl – The Dirtminers
4.) Three Cheers – Phil Yates & The Affiliates

Happy birthday to a great guy, a great singer/songwriter,guitar player, a great father, husband and teacher. Three Cheers to Phil Yates on his birthday. The Dirthminers always put on fun shows and played geopolitical songs about having a crush on the girl in your class, you know, stuff like that. Raph Worrick was a driving force in the band and he is one of Phil’s affiliates. This next song is from the brand new (released two days ago) album featuring many of Burlington’s greats. It’s also the name of a show on Tuesday nights from 7-9pm on WBKM.ORG.

5.) Brothers And Sisters – Joe Adler & The Rangers Of Danger
6.) Good Thing – Maryse Smith
7.) The Ground Is Giving Up – Aaron Flinn

Aaron is one of Vermont’s true talents. I have not caught up with him recently, but hope to soon. Maryse is playing the Cambridge Music Festival this Saturday with Swale and others. Go see her if you can. You will be better off for it. Great new album from Joe Adler. He will play Saturday night with the Rangers at Nectar’s. This next band just released a very nice and happy video.

8.) Smile – Dwight and Nichole
9.) In Comes The Tide – PossumHaw
10.( Under Bright Stars – Alice Austin

I’m really beginning to love the riff in Stars and can’t wait to hear what she comes up with next. I love that song by PossumHaw. I ran into Hana Zara at Radio Bean on Tuesday when Joe Adler and Samara Lark Brown played, We agreed that she owed me a physical copy of her first CD. I ran into her while walking downtown on Wednesday and she gave me a copy. Here is one of the many great songs from that album.

11.) Nathaniel – Hana Zara
12.) Lights Of Montreal – Lobot
13.) Sunny Side Of The Couch – The Leston’s
14.) 88 – Wave Of The Future

Great new song from Wave. That EP came out a couple of weeks ago. I’m heading to Manhattan Pizza to see them after this show. Dino Bravo are opening, but I will be too late to catch them. Matthew Stephen Perry played with the Leston’s and Chris Farnsworth played with Lobot, so if you listen to those two songs you will get a hint of what Bravo sound like. Friday and Saturday the South End of Burlington will be filled with art and music. Wave are playing tomorrow at Speaking Volumes on Pine st, and this next band are playing Saturday on King Street, as part of the South End Art Hop.

15.) Eighty Nine – Black Rabbit
16.) Dreams Elope – Joe Adler and the Rangers Of Danger
17.) High Water Mark – The Pants

Classic Burlington rock from the nineties. Another great new song from Joe’s album Many Things & Many Scenes. I hope I can make it to Rabbit on Saturday. The college kids are back and September 1st was a huge moving day in Burlington. This is the next song from Ninja Jane.

18.) Moving Song – Zola Turn
19.) Killing Ghosts – Better Things
20.) Wiser – And The Kids

And The Kids will play at the Art Hop on Flynn ave on Friday and will play at Nectar’s with Joe on Saturday. Yea! Great new song from Better. I ran into Michael Clifford on Wednesday. He wanted my Hana Zara CD but I would not give it to him. To make it up to him, a bit, here is a song from one of his bands.

21.) Ready To Race – Lendway
22.) TFAY – Elephants of Scotland

I love the John Whyte lyric asking if we can win the human race, and like the lyrical tie in with Lendway. Of course we can win the human race. Act with joy and promote fun for all. We’ll all win that way. OK, here’s more Joe.

23.) Many A Girl (Back Of A Sail) – Joe Adler and the Rangers Of Danger
24.) Ain’t No Telling – Kat Wright & The Indomitable Soul Band
25.) Many A Girl (Back Of A Sail) reprise – Joe Adler and the Rangers Of Danger

Joe’s band and Kat’s band are pretty much the same, so I thought I’d mix them together. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
