Swale 016

Tonight’s local music radio show on WBKM.ORG will run from 9-11pm US Eastern time tonight,Thursday June 28. It streams from the website or here WBKM It will go as follows.

Song before: Set Yourself On Fire – Stars

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. Let’s begin tonight with a story I’m not going to tell.

1.) A Locally Specific Blues – Jason Baker
2.) Dumb Smile – Clever Girls
3.) Drivin’ All Alone – The Parts
4.) Ornan – Dirty Blondes

Ornan is such a great guy. I love how that song honors him. Cool song from the Parts. They’re playing a show in Middlebury tonight. Clever will be Live From the Fort tonight. Cool song from Jason. OK, here is the next song on The Uncanny Doom Service.

5.) Ectocooler – Doom Service
6.) Morning Again – Doll Fight
7.) Blank Daze – Mr. Doubtfire
8.) Flaca Daza – Miku Daza

I just got a ticket to see them on the waterfront opening Grand Point North. I’m so excited. They are going to rock that place. Cool song from Doubtfire. Classic from Doll. Nice rocker from Doom. OK, let’s go back a ways.

9.) Weapons Factory – The Wards
10.) Lift A Finger – Bag Of Panties
11.) Queen City – Cave Bees
12.) Destroying Everything They See – Blue Button

Panties were a ’90’s band who will reunite for a show on Saturday at The Monkey House. Bees and Button are on the bill too, for obvious reasons. That Wards song just keeps staying relevant. I caught this next band at Big Heavy World last Friday and they rocked the place hard.

13.) Divide & Conquer – Smokestack Lightning
14.) Mush – Phantom Suns
15.) Blood Horizon – A Film In Color
16.) Trading Bullets – Fire The Cannons

Cannons were such an amazing band. Film played a tremendous show at BHW. Suns and Lightning rocked it hard too. So, last Saturday I was elated to catch the set from Sean Toohey and Matt Hutton at Radio Bean. It was great to hear the old Spray 9, Envy and Red Telephone songs. We greeted them warmly.

17.) Places You Return – The Red Telephone
18.) The Space Between – The Nancy Druids
19.) Safe To Say – SWALE
20.) Black 17 – The New Siberians

Great song from Siberians. Swale will be at Radio Bean tomorrow. The Druids will be there on Saturday. I caught this band at the Monkey House last night. They were amazing as always.

21.) The Party’s Over – The Mountain Carol
22.) Rainy Alley – Totally Submerged
23.) In The Rain – Plan B
24.) Left One In The Rain – Alice Austin

I miss Alice but love that I can play her music anytime. Classic from Plan B. Submerged play all over Vermont all the time. Super cool song from Carol. OK, this next gentleman is beginning a tour of Vermont libraries. The intent is to raise funds for them and to raise awareness about literacy and how libraries are becoming community centers. The tour runs through July and into August. It begins Saturday night in Montgomery Center. Here’s a song from the new album Book Of Zoo.

25.) Stardust For Dessert – David Rosane & The Zookeepers
26.) Automatic Sweetheart – Hammydown
27.) Lichen – Long Neck
22.) Faded Hollow – The Cush

Lovely song from the Cush. I caught a couple of songs from Neck at ArtsRiot on Friday and they were really fun. Cool songs from Hammy and David. Well, I hope you enjoyed checking our the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?
