I had a great time seeing music last Wednesday. I woke up and wrote up three shows that I hand seen in the last week then took a short nap. I met up with Mary Wolcott around 6:30 and we headed over to Robot Dog Studio. Ryan Cohen spent some time getting the sound right then I began my interview with David Rosane & The Zookeepers that I played the next day on my local music radio show on WBKM. They played four lovely songs. Grandma, Sugar And Cream, Hope In The Dark, and What The Fuck Went Wrong are all powerful and gorgeous songs and we chatted about life in between. After we wrapped up the interview They played one more song that I will use for my annual Halloween show. Stardust For Dessert is about the Paris bombing attack and about how life can be transferred into stardust in an instant. After that was wrapped up the band headed out and Mary, Ryan and I chatted for a bit. Mary and I then headed out and went downtown.

We arrived at Red Square just as gneiss ended a set so we got drinks then chatted with the band. It was s short break then they got up to play. Naomi Galimidi and Johnny Meli alternated singing the songs as Jesse Cowan and Jacob Blodgett locked in the rhythm. They began with a song with a jazzy jam feel then played a song about seeing the light in your soul. They played a great version of Haze then played a funky song about moving on to the next scene. They played a song about walking in light that had a bit of a Bowie vibe. Piano In Every Room filled my heart and Lovely Day kept me smiling. A song about it being too much and never enough had a nice feel to it and they closed with an appropriate song called Comfort Me. Per the band it went Rumor (Debut) → Wish I Knew You, Daughters Eyes, Sophia Walks → Haze → Backdrop, Lovely Day, Too Much, Comfort Me.

After that we headed out and Mary dropped me off then headed home. It was indeed a lovely day.
