WBKM CREW

WBKM CREW

I just got home from local music internet radio show 29 on WBKM.ORG. It had a slow start, a loud finish, and a bit of a space theme going.

Song Before: Veteran of the Psychic Wars – Blue Oyster Cult

Intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are the Sounds Of Burlington. I just got my hands on the new Satori Bob album. John Baumann used to play all over this town. This is what he’s up to now. This is a song called Beats Me, and this is Burlington’s kind of music on WBKM

1.) Beats Me – Satori Bob

2.) Santa Anna – Hana Zara

3.) Powder – The New Siberians

4.) Where Are You Tonight? – The Lonestar Chain

Burette Douglas is probably in Texas, but hopefully he will come back for a visit soon. It would be fun to see another Lonestar show. Powder is such a great song. Yet another great Hana song. Beats Me was familiar from the first note. What a cool song. This next song has a bit of rock, some jam, and a bit of jazz. It was recorded at Signal Kitchen.

5.) Jive – Clint Bierman and the Necessary Means

6.) Home Away From Home – Elephants of Scotland

7.) Weightless – Queen Tangerine

That’s Alice Austin and Julia Austin having fun with an outer space theme. Elephants are all about outer space. A lot of people in Burlington love the idea of being beyond this planet. Up next is a powerful Swale song and the next on their album A Small Arrival.

8.) Bittersweet – Swale

9.) We Are The Beautiful Sunsets – The Cush

10.) Gentlemen – Plan B

Wouldn’t the world be a bit nicer if we were all gentlemen? It’s surprising how little effort it takes. With the long slow Swale ending I thought Sunsets would mix nicely. It did! This weekend is the Grace Potter Grand Points North festival, but my eyes are on Radio Bean for punk night on Sunday

11.) Songs in those chords – Trapper Keeper

12.) How It Goes – Blue Button

13.) Come To Space – Rough Francis

It should be a fun night at the Bean with those three. Ha, another space song. I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town. Let’s do it again next week, shall we?

Tim here, with another new Fish song. It’s funny when your favorite artist writes about WW I, but everything is still relevant today.

Song After: The Gathering – Fish
