WBKM CREW

WBKM CREW

I just got back from Radio show 28 on WBKM.ORG.  It was a moody and rocking affair with a dash of chaos.  Classic Burlington lined up with happening now Burlington.  Both held up well.

Song Before: A Full Moon In March – The Waterboys

Intro

From our small city to the great big world, these are The Sounds Of Burlington.  Tonight it will drop into the 30’s, but there will be a few warm days ahead.  I know you will go swimming again.  When you do, don’t be a shark victim.  This is the Theme Song from Shark Victim on WBKM, and this is Burlington’s kind of music.

1.) Theme Song – Shark Victim

2.) You Don’t Like Me (Do Ya) – Pinhead

3.) Earth Angel – Poxy

4.) Confession – Violette Ultraviolet

I’ve seen VU a couple of times this year and had a great time.  Poxy rock, very quickly, and will be playing 242 Main sometime soon.  Pinhead are such a classic VT band.  It’s so fun to watch J Boom Mateik and Michael Clifford rock out as SV.  Here is the next song on A Small Arrival

5.) The Last Room You’ll Ever Sleep In – Swale

6.) One From Two – Linda Bassick

7.) Blue Again – Anna Pardenik and Her Apologies

I’ve really enjoyed seeing Anna this year.  I’m happy to have music of hers to play.  Linda is a wonderful singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and plays with Steady Betty, when not doing her solo projects.  She also goes to a lot of shows and supports her fellow musicians.  Way to go Linda.  Hmmmm, Swale.  I missed some music this week, but looked at Wednesday and found Cameo Harlot at the Monkey House.  I chatted with the guys from Vetica when I walked in, and found they were playing too.  Cool.

8.) Can’t Feel It – Vetica

9.) Holmes Sweet Holmes – Cameo Harlot

10.) Carion My Wayward Son – The Contrarian

I’ve been listening to Contrarian’s Advanced Magic lately, and that one caught me.  The Cameo song was a nice brooding rocker with a strong finish.  Another great song by Vetica.  I’m heading to the Art Hop tomorrow to catch Dino Bravo, and maybe Rough Francis.  A long time ago, in Burlington, there was a man named Ethan.  He formed a band called the Hollywood Indians and Peg Tassey wrote a song about him.  She tossed in a poem to begin with.

11.) Poem for Torin/Ethan’s Stoned – Peg Tassey

12.) Bad Oasis – Farm

I hope you enjoyed checking out the music of our town, let’s do it again next week, shall we?
